Note that 1541-II drives are different, and its easy to power up them with PC power supply. But you cannot put 1541-II mechanism into a tower case.

2016年4月10日 · And you don't have to build you own power supply or have to make anything for it to work just plugin and play. If you look around you can get the PSUs cheap,my 5vDC was £2 and 9VAC I already had from my Atari 1050 disk drive but really you only need the 5VDC you can use the 9VAC from the commodore brick and cut off the 5VDC from it.

Been reading about the options available (few) and also seen the basicwayne ones sold on eBay. I contacted Ray Carlson just to find out he had retired and is no longer making power supplies, just repairs.

2023年11月28日 · I don't get the idea those Keelog power supplies are very high quality. Honestly I still use the original Commodore bricks with savers. I don't have nearly the failure rate that seems to be the common rumor. Now I did repair C64's in the 80's and 90's for a dealer. I know they sometimes do go bad in that way- I'm not denying it.

2015年3月20日 · I tried another supply, same result on the c64, and same result on measuring the pinouts. So the fault is in the c64. I am very green with electronics (still learning slowly after all these years) but I am guessing that perhaps these power supplies are built in such a way that they don't connect any lines unless connected into a c64 power socket?
