The City of Hood River, incorporated in 1895, is located at the confluence of the Hood River and the Columbia River, about 30 miles north of Mt. Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak. It is 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon’s largest city.

The City of Hood River’s high-quality water comes from a pristine groundwater source consisting of three springs located approximately 15 miles southwest of town on the slopes of Mount Hood. Cold Spring, Stone Spring I, and Stone Spring II are located on approximately 23 acres of City-owned property near Lost Lake.
