Opened for public tastings in 1882, Charles Krug is home to California’s very first tasting room, located in St. Helena, California. The estate is now a world-class hospitality center, renowned for its exceptional wines, stunning design and rich history.

From vibrant Napa Sauvignon Blanc to opulent single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Charles Krug wines are artfully crafted expressions of classic Napa Valley terroir.

In 1943, Cesare & Rosa Mondavi, purchase the iconic Charles Krug and build upon the winery’s reputation for innovation and uncompromising quality. The Mondavi Family have now been stewards of this great estate for over 75 years and four generations.

When the founder, Charles Krug, married Carolina Bale, they received a dowry of 500 acres. On their favorite estate from that dowry, they built the winery that started it all. Our sparkling wines are named in her honor, as she is the reason this historical landmark exists.
