I just got a new canister to fix the EVAP codes (purchased online, ~$300 - genuine Toyota) and if the location is easy to get to, will replace myself. The dealer / car shop quotes 2.5 hours labor time!

2015年9月1日 · I have a 97 Rav4 AWD. I am getting P0446, 0443 and one other code having to do evaporative /charcoal canister and CEL on. I checked around the fuel tank and I see nothing that looks like the charcoal canister although I read on one forum that it's on top fuel tank. From the way things look I highly doubt it's on top of the tank.

2020年9月20日 · For me, mine was in the charcoal canister (77740-06230) which was easy to access once the plastic undercarriage trim is removed. The replacement was a straight forward process: unclip the 3 hoses, remove the 2 screws and 1 clip mounting the front end of the canister, and slide off to fully remove the canister itself.

2016年8月16日 · I did a bit of research on the code and they pointed to the VSV valve, charcoal canister, and fuel cap. I want to replace the VSV valve near the charcoal canister; however, I don't know where this canister is located. I've read on other forums and they indicated that the canister is located under the vehicle near the spare tire.

2010年3月22日 · I bought my Haynes manual off Ebay plus a factory servie manual again off Ebay. when I saw your listing I looked in my Haynes manual and I know what the charcoal canister looks like. Since mine is alot older than yours they might be somewhat different. My has 3 vacum hoses coming out the canister 2 from top and 1 from the bottom.

2019年3月30日 · To get to the canister/ The whole muffler must be taken off the rubber doughnuts. Then there is a heat shield with 4 #10 mm socket that needs to come off. After that, you have a clear view of the canister. 3 #10 mm socket again and 3 hoses must come off. the black one with squeezable tabs is very difficult-the the tube is hallow.
