Centrifugal- and Centripetal force - Physics Stack Exchange
2025年1月18日 · Also, from the rod's frame of reference, there has to be a centrifugal-force, too. This seems to imagine a picture were the full centrifugal force of the rotating system and the centripetal force stabilizing the rotation in the inertial system are somehow both pulling at the same object against each other. That picture is not correct.
How does centrifugal force work? - Physics Stack Exchange
2013年6月3日 · Centrifugal force is not a real force in Newtonian mechanics. Whenever a frame of reference is accelerated (except the cases where the acceleration is due to gravity) w.r.t. an inertial frame of reference, an observer situating in that reference frame experiences a "force" in the opposite direction of the acceleration.
newtonian mechanics - Is inertia the same as centrifugal force ...
2020年5月20日 · In the rotating frame, there's a centrifugal acceleration (or a centrifugal pseudoforce), opposed by a centripetal force. In an inertial frame, that same behavior is captured simply in the inertia of the objects involved.
What provides the centrifugal force for planets orbiting a star?
There is only centrifugal force in the orbiting frame of the planet. In this frame, the planet is not accelerating, so you a need centrifugal force to balance the centripetal force. It is perfectly valid to consider the star as your reference frame, but then there is no centrifugal force at all, and the planet is accelerating towards the star.
How is Gravity created in opposite to centrifugal force?
2019年3月19日 · Gravity is a fundamental force in addition to the other 3 known forces of nature that are: electromagnetism, the weak force and the strong force. then later on states that. Einstein's theory treats gravity as something other than force, namely that it isn't a force. so I have been trying to understand it all with a bit more reading.
newtonian mechanics - Centrifugal force/ pseudo force in circular ...
2024年8月4日 · $\begingroup$ "The pseudo centrifugal force is defined to be be equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the centripetal force" The centrifugal force can be present in a rotating reference frame even if there are no centripetal forces present, and even if there are centripetal forces, they do not need to cancel the centrifugal force ...
Centrifugal Force in a Space Station - Physics Stack Exchange
2016年10月18日 · An argument has been made that if a space station in deep space where it is not affected by any significant gravity from nearby heavenly bodies could exert enough centrifugal force to simulate gravity if it was 980 meters long and rotating at 0.01 rads per second. This would be a huge undertaking to construct a vehicle of this magnitude.
Gravity and centrifugal force - Physics Stack Exchange
2017年10月2日 · The centrifugal force does have an effect on the weight of objects on the Earth. It is about half the reason things are lighter at the equator than the poles, the other being that they are further from the center of the Earth, owing to its oblate shape (itself a …
Centrifugal force intuitive explanation - Physics Stack Exchange
The centrifugal force is called a fictitious force or a pseudoforce, because it can't be classified as any of the fundamental forces (electromagnetic etc.) and there's no external body that exerts it. Newton's laws don't apply in this accelerating frame of reference.
Derivation of the centrifugal and coriolis force
2013年12月29日 · The second term on the right is the Coriolis force, and the third term is the centrifugal force (clearly pointing away from the centre of rotation). Any interpretation of the Coriolis and centrifugal forces then follow naturally from this single important equation.
