Our Farm. Welcome to our dairy herd share. We are a small family farm run mainly by Christine with the support of her husband, Jared and her three children, Daphne, Cyprus and Florence. Christine has had farming experience her whole life, but we started working with cows as Cast Iron Farm in 2010.

Fast forward just over 100 years and our nation relies on pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, feed lots and factory farms. Woah! How did we get here? All of these things started as simple aids to help ease the burden of farming, but we’ve gone way overboard.

Cast Iron Farm does the daily work, management and boarding of the cows and you are entitled to pick up a share of the milk they produce. What size is a share? We bottle our milk in ½ gallon glass jars with a plastic lid.

2012年1月16日 · The farm’s old dairy make room now houses the world headquarters of Expansion Computers! Jared revels in the peace and quiet at having his own space. He has plenty of windows to watch out over the farm.

I did manage to clean out the milk fridge really well, so as of now, the milk will be in the new Cast Iron farm, milk fridge! Very exciting for us. My neighbor (who also gets milk from me) called me and said she was having some problems with a goat that had just kidded.

2011年6月5日 · Here are the things we do here at Cast Iron Farm to ensure that our milk is high quality and clean. 1.) We milk healthy cows. All of our cows have been vaccinated on a standard vaccination schedule so that they are not carrying and spreading debilitating diseases.
