2017年12月29日 · Unlikely a problem: Palpation of the carotid pulse can be blunted by extra neck tissue, position, posture, etc. If you have concerns regarding blood flow, a simple carotid duplex ultrasound can demonstrate flow. No symptoms, likely no issue.

A physical exam with attention to the carotid pulse (on both sides of neck) would be required to evaluate for carotid stenosis--which is narrowing of the inside of vessel usually due to cholesterol buildup found in older patients.
