Carolina Coonhound Rescue is a small 501c3 non-profit organization located in Charleston, South Carolina, established in 2010. Our goal is to rescue as many mistreated and abandoned hounds as we can. We provide these dogs with medical care, training, compassion, and love until they find their forever families.

We are here for you and your adopted dog for the life of that dog. We never want our adopters to feel lost or unsure of what to do next, especially when there are unforeseen training difficulties. We accept dogs from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia primarily, however will occasionally take dogs from Florida, virginia, and tennessee. We do no accept any dogs from areas not listed due to logistics and the amount of requests we receive.

We rescue dogs suffering from broken bones and other orthopedic problems, extreme emaciation, severe wounds, and many other illnesses and injuries. Our vet bills are a majority of our costs …

The main way our dogs get exposure to adopters other than social media is at events. We always need help setting up our booth, walking dogs, talking to potential fosters/adopters/volunteers, and handing out our information.

For non-oyster eaters we will have BBQ pork, hot dogs, mac and cheese, coleslaw. There are no discounted tickets for non-oyster eaters as this is a fundraising event. Thanks for understanding! There are plenty of activities for the whole family! Below are pics from our 2024 event.
