2021年2月3日 · I went to carmax when selling my first car as young adult. A 97 Honda Accord, not great, but it was a car. They offered me $200. $200! My xbox cost more than that. You couldn't get 4 tires on a car for $200. I politely declined and sold it myself for $1000 less than a week later. I'll never take any car to Carmax again.

I feel like they’ll think it’s a joke and not take me seriously. I have $7,000 to put down for a 2020 Toyota Corolla which should be ready this Wednesday. 2024年3月5日 · I’m looking at buying a new car at a dealer about 250 miles from home. There is a CarMax about 3 miles from my home and another CarMax almost across the street from the new car dealer. I’d like to get a sale price for my old car at home tonight, then drive to the new car dealership this Saturday. Have them give me a trade in price.

Was curious what my 2022 Toyota Corolla was worth on car max so I did a quote, and showed $22k. I did it again a month or so later and it’s now only $20k. I was shocked it went down so much in such short time, so i researched and turns out that the first offer you get is almost always the best offer you’re gonna get.

A super thin market, hyper inflation of car prices, and multi billion dollar companies that are running hot at complete losses just to get their comps up for an eventual sale.
