2010年1月4日 · I use a Canon EOS1000D. The 500D is similar, but has more pixels so is capable of higher resolution and can capture movies. The 1000D only ranges between 100 & 1600 ISO, so if the 500D supports ISO 3200 that might be useful - however, noise does increase with higher ISO numbers, so I am trying to stick to ISO 800 or lower if I can.

Astro imaging software will usually display FWHM data which can be used for focusing. If you use a focusing mask (ie Bahtinov mask), you can directly see the diffraction spikes on the computer's monitor.

2020年12月4日 · My main lens is my trusty Canon 500mm f/4 (version 1). I shoot with a 5D mk iv and a 7D mk ii. I've had a celestron EdgeHD 8" on order for about 6 weeks now and an AVX mount. I got that for planetary photography. However, in the back of my mind my hope has been to mount my 500mm Canon lens on the AVX for more wide-angle astrophotography.
