2015年7月21日 · I know straight cis people haven't faced the same challenges, and pride in their is more of a default than a goal. But I like visual identifying symbols, and some part of me thinks it would be great if everyone had an identifying symbol they could get behind and say 'this is me'. I wouldn't call it a 'cis pride flag' - just the 'cis flag'.

2022年7月14日 · The only cis/het pride flags that I don't mind are ones that combine with a queer label, e.g; transhet flag, hetero ace/aro flag etc. Cishetallos don't need a flag and if they want to fly one they can just use the progress pride flag, it's easy to recognise and easy to remember.

Pride as in a feeling of pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities that are admirable or associated with honor.

Putting this near the top: People forget that the pride flag is meant to be all inclusive of the entire spectrum of humanity including straight and/or cis people. The original meaning of the individual stripes and colors don't actually map to, say, gay, bi, trans or any specific identity or orientation.

I've had my nails painted in a trans flag pattern this month: thumb and pinky blue, ring and index pink, middle white. That's led to conversations with some cis friends and acquaintances who noticed. Most of them didn't know there was a trans pride flag, much less what it looks like.

Allows for personal identification, free from labels, but borrows from existing terminology/trends. Each element can be omitted as desired to create a flag that feels safe and represents you as you wish. Can be used to create pride flags for niche rainbow identities (within system's scope).

There's also the straight ally flag being offensive. The flag appropriates LGBTQ+ pride symbolism with straight pride. The progress pride flag with the intersex symbol is a more inclusive way to express LGBTQIA+ support without having the anti-lgbtqia+ implications.
