BTLA - Wikipedia
BTLA is a 289 amino acid long transmembrane glycoprotein. It is very similar in structure to PD-1 and CTLA-4. Therefore, it consists of an extracellular domain, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic domain.
Roles of BTLA in Immunity and Immune Disorders - PubMed
2021年3月29日 · B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) is one of the most important cosignaling molecules. It belongs to the CD28 superfamily and is similar to programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) in terms of its structure and function.
Roles of BTLA in Immunity and Immune Disorders - Frontiers
2021年3月28日 · BTLA can be detected in most lymphocytes and induces immunosuppression by inhibiting B and T cell activation and proliferation. The BTLA ligand, herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM), does not belong to the classic B7 family. Instead, it is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily.

2024年12月24日 · BTLA (B And T Lymphocyte Associated) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with BTLA include Hematologic Cancer and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Among its related pathways are Innate Immune System and Class I MHC mediated antigen processing and presentation. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include signaling receptor …
BTLA is a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor with similarities to CTLA …
Here we identify the B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA), an immunoglobulin domain-containing glycoprotein with two immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs.
Btla signaling in conventional and regulatory lymphocytes …
Checkpoint receptors, such as B and T lymphocyte attenuator (Btla), are widely expressed in lymphocyte and myeloid cells, where they function to regulate innate and adaptive immune responses and prevent the development of autoimmune disease (Schildberg et al., 2016; Ward-Kavanagh et al., 2016; Zhang and Vignali, 2016).
BTLA B and T lymphocyte associated [ (human)]
2025年2月8日 · Gene ID: 151888, updated on 8-Feb-2025. This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein contains a single immunoglobulin (Ig) domain and is a receptor that relays inhibitory signals to suppress the immune response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Btla signaling in conventional and regulatory lymphocytes …
2022年3月22日 · Together our studies provide important insights into how Btla functions as a checkpoint in diverse conventional and regulatory lymphocyte subsets to influence systemic immune responses.
BTLA promoter hypomethylation correlates with enhanced …
WHAT THIS STUDY ADDS This study shows that BTLA promoter hypomethylation leads to increased BTLA mRNA and protein expression, higher immune cell infiltration, and better overall survival in melanoma patients, highlighting its potential as a biomarker for prognosis and immunotherapy response.
B and T lymphocyte Attenuator, BTLA, Regulates T cell Survival in …
2008年9月1日 · The recently described receptor, B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator (BTLA), has been demonstrated to have an important role in limiting the duration of inflammation in a murine model of allergic asthma. In this study we have examined the role of BTLA on the proliferation, recruitment and survival of T cells in response to inhaled allergen.
BTLA Expression in CLL: Epigenetic Regulation and Impact on CLL …
As demonstrated in in vitro studies, BTLA has a direct negative activity on T cell proliferation and cytokine production. Moreover, BTLA is an inhibitory co-receptor of the BCR signaling pathway that, upon ligation with HVEM, attenuates B cell activation by targeting the downstream signaling molecules Syk and B cell linker protein [13].
B-And T Lymphocyte Attenuator - an overview - ScienceDirect
The B and T lymphocyte attenuator, BTLA, is a recently discovered Ig superfamily member. BTLA engagement results in downregulation of T-cell activation, and mice deficient in BTLA show increased incidence and severity of autoimmune disorders. A novel B7 family member, B7x (B7S1, B7-H4), has been proposed as the ligand for BTLA.
Btla signaling in conventional and regulatory lymphocytes …
2022年3月22日 · Stienne et al. investigate how BTLA and HVEM receptors control inflammatory and metabolic signaling in lymphocytes. A major function of these receptors in intestinal lymphoid tissue is to regulate mucosal antibody production.
BTLA is a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor with similarities to CTLA …
2003年6月8日 · Here we identify the B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA), an immunoglobulin domain–containing glycoprotein with two immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs.
BTLA biology in cancer: from bench discoveries to clinical potentials
In cancer, abnormal cells evade immune surveillance by exploiting checkpoints like BTLA. Upregulated BTLA expression is linked to impaired anti-tumor immunity and unfavorable disease outcomes. In preclinical studies, BTLA-targeted therapies have shown improved treatment outcomes and enhanced antitumor immunity.
BTLA-HVEM Couple in Health and Diseases: Insights for …
2021年8月31日 · BTLA (B- and T- Lymphocyte Attenuator) is a co-inhibitory receptor mainly expressed by B and T cells, repressing the activation signal transduction. BTLA shares similarities with other immune checkpoints such as PD-1 and CTLA-4 which are the targets of the currently used immunotherapies.
