Dancong is a Chinese oolong tea. It is difficult to brew correctly and can easily become bitter; however, when done right, a high-grade cup is regarded by many as the ultimate tea.

2025年1月15日 · Dan Cong (单枞) are special types of Oolong from Fenghuang shan (Phoenix mountains) in Guandong province, China. The Phoenix mountains are elevated from 350 - 1560 meters above sea level.

Though it may seem like every vendor has a different definition, there are three main ways this name can be interpreted. Purists translate dan cong as “single bush”, and claim that true dan cong teas must be plucked from a single tea plant. Some Phoenix oolongs are undoubtedly made this way, but a single tea tree is naturally limited in capacity.
