I have seen aquamarines that are almost the same color as Blue Topaz but the price for them was waaaaay over what you would pay for a lighter aqua. A bit of green or gray tint is common in aquas, whereas Blue Topaz colors are a much purer navy blue.

2006年12月10日 · Most blue topaz is actually heat treated yellow material. Looking at one of my stone dealer sites,a nicely cut blue topaz will cost me $23 carat or thereabouts. Cutting and polishing stones well is a difficult task ,so good luck if you want to give it a go. Sorry i can`t be more help than this.

As long as the silver cleaner is deemed safe to handle, it shouldn''t be capable to damage blue toaz which is inert to every household chemical I can think of. Sorry to hear such thing.
