Best drill bit for old concrete - DIY Home Improvement Forum
2012年3月10日 · The Chicago drill seems to be much better, goes through the concrete like wood. I did snap a bit after 20 or so holes though. It has an SDS plus chuck, which is so much easier to work with, I was tightening drill bits every five minutes with the hammer drill.
Question about drilling in concrete blocks - can I use a regular drill ...
2024年10月21日 · I don't have a hammer drill. Can I just buy a masonry bit and drill it with a 3/8" corded drill? I was assuming I can, and thought it might take a little longer, but it could be done, esp. since it's a concrete block (not poured concrete) foundation. Then I watched a few youtube videos and some say it's not a good idea.

A carbide bit with an oil pool and the drill on low rpms, I created all the holes I needed. Some swear by Titanium or coated bits. I find the type of bit is important some times.

2014年7月22日 · It is a BRAND NEW bit as stated in the original post, used on a hammer drill in a hammer mode. Tested bit on regular concrete and just bored a 3/16" hole 4" long in about 10 seconds. Using the same unworn new bit on this terrazzo for 10 minutes dented it about 1/8".

2014年7月18日 · With all due respect to itsreal,a Jocobs chuck is nothing more than a brand name for a drill chuck. They hold the bit.Has nothing to do with the drill slipping off of exposed aggregate. You need a flat spot to start drilling or a indent to keep the drill bit from slipping. A center punch and hammer will give you this.

2023年6月19日 · The big 3/4 in masonry bit already seems to be at the extreme end of what a hammer drill is for, with bits like the 1 1/4 I actually need only being for SDS rotary hammer tools. I see a couple options for what to do and I'm curious what others think my best (and most economical path forward would be). 1 . There is a 1in Bosch hammer drill bit.
