Bauang, officially the Municipality of Bauang (Ilocano: Ili ti Bauang; Pangasinan: Baley na Bauang; Filipino: Bayan ng Bauang), is a municipality in the province of La Union, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 78,449.
Bauang stretches along a portion of the shoreline of the West Philippine Sea at the western portion of the province of La Union. It falls within the longitude 16° 20’ to 16° 40’ and latitude 120° 30”.
When La Union was created in 1850, Bauang was one of the original 12 towns that formed the province. This coastal municipality is about 10 kilometers south of San Fernando City, 50 kilometers west of Baguio City, and 250 kilometers north of Metro Manila.

Bauang is located in the western part of the second district of La Union. The western portion of Bauang stretches along the shorelines of west Philippine sea. It is bounded on the north by the City of San Fernando; on the east by Naguilian town; on the south by town of Caba.
