A sample of some of the different types of bridges is shown below. The type of bridge and material used is dependent on many different factors: location, span length, type of traffic, etc.
Each ES 101 student group will design a truss bridge that will be made of balsa wood and wood glue. To aid in the exploration for possible truss design alternatives, we will model and analyze the trusses using an online software program called ForceEffect.
