2011年9月3日 · Well the Universal Ball Joint Boots / Dust Covers from these Auto Part stores are all the wrong size. Would anyone know where to find a dust cover / boot that would actually work out? My car is still up on jack stands and I would really hate to have to buy a whole new ball joint to replace just the boot off the new ball joint I already purchased.

2012年5月1日 · Once you have the ball joint separated from the spindle remove the lock ring from the ball joint. Next, use the ball joint press to remove the ball joint. After the old ball joint is out press the new one in. Bolt everything back up. And your good to go. Hope this helps someone out. If I missed anything let me know.

2011年10月3日 · Just watch the dust boot. If the air nozzle has little holes around the end to prevent pressure build up you need to put your fingers over there to get he pressure to build up if that makes sense. I did it for all 4 calipers so I can promise it works.

2021年8月30日 · Slide the axle half shaft out from the boot, do this over a bucket as they are filled with fluid. Remove the axle half shaft. Clean both the M/T half shaft and the grease from the CV joint. Install M/T half shaft onto the axle/boot and fill the CV joint with CV joint grease. Install a new clamp onto the CV axle boot. 2007年10月13日 · ive seen worse, you could probably get away with cleaning that hole up some. use a pick and some penetrating lube to pick the rust out of the inset lip and some 220 grit paper to clean the hole out well. the dust boot lips on my soon to be swapped calipers looked about as bad as that and cleaned up just fine.

2009年8月20日 · Only removed cross bolt from lower ball joint and slid axle out of hub. No other suspension fasteners were disturbed. Tightened cross bolt till juice ran out. Torqued axle nut 170, lugs 80. Triple checked axle is fully seated on mid shaft splines. Called parts house and have a replacement to be here today.

2007年2月25日 · If this doesn't work. Hacksaw or Dremel the Endlink in the middle. Then using your hand, use break the endlinks at the ball joint, by either pulling or pushing on the cut rod end. This should break off the end of the endlink that's on the ball joint. Now you can use your vice grips and put them on the ball joint end.
