22 votes, 16 comments. true. Getting past ante 1 without any good jokers (Edit: Not that you need to stick with a bad run, restarting is part of the game, but if you cannot consistently get past ante 1 regardless of jokers, this is a big area for improving your play.)

Balatro is a nice balance between players going greedy, loss aversion, fear of change and the paradox of choice. Greed is trying to god roll a specific build in a game with randomness, it's a dice roll, it may happen but if it don't, you need to adapt, also it may take a while to gather the puzzle pieces and you need to survive until it happen.

Balatro-adjacent content is allowed to some degree, but please try to keep the focus on Balatro. Absolutely no politics, no current events not related to Balatro, and of course, no witch-hunting. 3

Balatro is fairly akin to rogue-likes such as Rogue Legacy, specifically in that each run will actually give you more to work with for the following run, Rogue Legacy does this with the castle upgrades etc, Balatro does this with unlocking jokers and vouchers.
