The North American XB-28 (NA-63) was an aircraft proposed by North American Aviation to fill a strong need in the United States Army Air Corps for a high-altitude medium bomber. It never entered production, with only two prototypes being built.

The B28, originally Mark 28, was a thermonuclear bomb carried by U.S. tactical fighter bombers, attack aircraft and bomber aircraft. From 1962 to 1972 under the NATO nuclear weapons sharing program, American B28s also equipped six Europe-based Canadian CF-104 squadrons known as the RCAF Nuclear Strike Force.

The B-28 Certificate of Fitness is required for supervision of Stationary Energy Storage Systems. Stationary storage battery systems are commonly used in office buildings and other commercial buildings to provide power for various NON-EMERGENCY uses.

North American B-28 Dragon. An order for a new high-altitude medium bomber was put out on 13 February 1940; the XB-28 first flew on 26 April 1942. The XB-28 was based on North American Aviation's highly successful B-25 Mitchell, but as it evolved it became a completely new design, much more reminiscent of the Martin B-26 Marauder.

The W-28 small diameter, light weight ("Class-D") thermonuclear warhead in this bomb became the most versatile and widely used design ever adopted by the United States.

Designed to be Crewed by (5), The B-28 was 57-feet long with a wingspan of 73-feet. Powered (2) Pratt & Whitney R-2800, 18 Cylinder Air Cooled Engines. The ''Dragon'' could achieve an airspeed at trials pf 370-mph. Prototypes were flown to an operational ceiling of 38,000-feet.

The North American XB-28 (NA-63) Dragon was a proposed high-altitude follow-on to the B-25 Mitchell twin-engined medium bomber. Three prototypes were ordered on February 13, 1940. The XB-28 aircraft was generally similar to the B-25 in overall configuration, but had a single vertical tail rather than two.
