This late 14th to early 15th century bastard sword by Windlass Steelcrafts is based on an original sword in the collection of the the MET in New York and takes it name from the 1422 Battle of Arbedo – a costly victory for the Duchy of Milan against the Swiss. A responsive sword, the Arbedo can be ably used both single-handedly and with two hands.

Being a relatively popular model back in the day, the Arbedo sword tried to reproduce an original piece on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

In Arbedo on June 22, 1422 the famous Milanese cavalry commander Carmagnola, along with Angelo de la Pergola, 6,000 horsemen and 4,000 footmen, attacked an army of 4,000 Swiss pikemen and halberdiers. As the battle raged on, a group of Swiss foragers wandered near the scene.
