Anomia is a card-based party game designed by Andrew Innes and first published by Anomia Press in 2009. It is a fast-paced game where players flip cards until the symbols on two players’ cards match.

Anomia is a party game that tests your vocabulary and reflexes under pressure. It's a fun and frantic race to identify matching categories between your card and your opponent's, all while the wild cards keep things unpredictable.

To play, draw and reveal a card from the center pile. Does the symbol on your card match one on another player's card? If so, you must quickly face-off with the other player by giving an example of the person, place, or thing on their card before they can do the same for yours.

First, we suggest you make yourself familiar with how a three to six player game works. Once you understand that, you can start a two player game by simply having each player maintain two separate Play Piles. When it's your turn, draw a card from either Draw Pile, and quickly flip it face up on either of your play piles.

A Face-Off consists of giving a correct example of the person, place, or thing on your opponent's card, before they can do the same for your card. The player who finishes blurting out a correct answer first wins the Face-Off.
