That might be the best that can be done without disassembling the whole top of the heater. If they can get 6 months or a year more out of it, then they will have the money to replace it. I’ve encouraged them to contact Amtrol, perhaps Amtrol will recognize it as a factory defect, and provide a little help although it is 7 years old.

I have a 40 gallon amtrol boilermate 3-4yrs old run off a weil mclean CG-5 gas boiler. It runs out of hot water afeter about a 20 minute hot shower and takes 45 minutes to come back to 140. I moved into this house a year ago. Seems to be little difference in hot water going in and the return to the boiler. Is this normal operation?

More Boilermate Problems. Is the Boilermate incompatible with Monitor's MZ condensing boiler? I've got another problem that has yet to be resolved with an Amtrol Boilermate (Classic Series 41 gal. tank.) The "smart control" thermister has failed on this one job twice within 6 months.

John We have cleaned numerous amtrol coils on the tank side, with good results. As per manufactures instructions we use a nicol safe ice machine cleaner. Drain the tank and flush, fill back up to cover the coils, add in the cleaner and allow to sit for half hour or so. Drain flush and drain again. Seems to clean that tighly wound coil.

The problems we see are gummed up coils. If you follow directions from boiler mate the tell you to drain the system then fill it a little and add Nicolsafe ice machine cleaner. This is to eat away the crud on the coil. CAll Amtrol for the excact directons.

So after i shut off my zones, which did not affect anything, i was down to the Amtrol Boilermate. So I started pressing the button and started upping the temp from 126 to 130, and low and behold, the Burnham starts up and the short cycling stopped.

1996年9月6日 · My old Amtrol Boilermate's serial number was BM01475, and it was manufactured on July 7th of '98 according to them. (I think the letters are what they used to signify the month and year of manufacture, then again the "BM" could mean Boiler Mate).

Not a lot worries about code around here. Pretty remote. The relief runs through the floor around in the walls for about 15 ft to another room that has a drain about 3-4 feet away.
