Oct 27, 2013 · It has everything to do with it. If you have 500 whp in a FWD and can't get traction then all you have is a burnout machine and not a fast car. If on the other hand you have the same car but it's AWD and can get traction then the extra AWD drivetrain loss is meaningless because you are getting the power to the ground.

I have been reading about center diffs, transfer cases, spider gears, VC's and the sort, but I don't have a mental picture to how it all goes together.

Jun 19, 2010 · Would you be using a JDM non-turbo AWD 6G72 bellhousing on a 1G transmission case then? (that is what the JDM non-turbo AWD 5-speeds are for reference) The guts of this transmission are 1G AWD DSM turbo parts and 2G-style mounts, and it utilizes a DSM AWD clutch on the 6G72 AWD flywheel if I recall.

The AWD gas tank mounts into the car with straps instead of bolting in like the FWD tank. To accommodate for this, the factory FWD tank mounts must be cut out. With the stock mounts removed, new bolts must be placed to support the AWD tank.

May 13, 2008 · the awd is junk.. look at the suspensions. look how cruddy the awd is and clean the fwd is. anyway its really not that bad to do. harder than a 2g, but its very doable. there will actually be very little fabrication. most parts will be transfered over from the awd.

May 5, 2011 · AWD flywheel (imagine 50 or less used) a few bolts needed (5 bucks or less) I really will have under 200 in cash (credit card) outlay, and the rest came from my tendency to hoard, rebuild and collect good parts that at this time i can spare for "free" or make 600 bucks or more (depends on what i wanted and i want AWD)
