2023年6月5日 · Yes, once the firearm is registered as an SBR, you can change out the “brace” device or stock for a different brace or stock. You do not need to contact ATF/NFA because changing the brace/stock does not change the configuration of the SBR. However, if the length of the firearm has changed you will need to notify the NFA Division.

You can take your papered SBR, slap a long upper on it (thereby removing it fro the purview of the NFA) , and sell it as a Title I weapon.

The only exception would be if you intend to transfer it, in which case, the records would need to be updated to match the configuration at the time of the transfer.
