2020年9月22日 · As I understand it, the AR-18 was supposed to be a cheaper, easier to manufacture alternative to the AR-15 for smaller countries looking to equip their armies with a locally produced rifle. The problem was that the US government was happy sell AR-15s cheap or flat out give them away to client states.

2022年10月15日 · An 18" BBL is more than half thE performance difference between a 16 and a 20 (extra length has demisinshing returns, the 2" address on top of 16 is more meaningful than another 2" adder to 18). 18" Gunner is actually a pretty fantastic default standard profile to run a generic general purpose AR15.

The ArmaLite base has no markings other than the early inverted post scopes models having serial numbers starting with 67 and 71 that also denote the year of mfg by Hakko, later scope bases had no serial numbers.

2019年3月3日 · Probably not, AR-18's/ AR-180's have always been pretty darn accurate, and are just modified AR-15 barrels. They would have to have use a pretty garbage barrel to have disappointing accuracy, plus all the rest of it's all AR-15 stuff, so any drop in trigger will work too (that doesn't require an AR-15 bolt) so there's a ton of match triggers ...

My recent experiences at distance with my 14.5 have me questioning which I should go with. This past weekend I took my 14.5" rifle with AAC 77gr SMKs and was making consistent hits at 965 yards.

2021年3月19日 · If you have a particular recoil impulse you are looking for on a shot or shot to shot basis you can run a buffer style or weight that will give you that and then tune to it. If you dont trust an an adjustable, I ran a Criterion 18" rifle gas with a Lantac ultra low profile block, and a JP SCS with the standard spring.

2009年5月1日 · The velocity difference is not linear; there is much less fps lost going from 20" to 18" than there is going from 18" to 16". 18" seems to be a sweet spot for most 5.56 loadings –– the extra velocity you get from going longer is less and less. ETA: data

2012年12月9日 · I have been buying parts a couple of pieces at a time forever and bought a buffer ages ago but lost it. The rifle will have an 18" barrel with a rifle length gas system and a Magpul ACS stock. The buffer tube/kit is milspec, not commercial if that makes a difference.
