He's got all Macintosh tube equipment but had put these speakers away years ago. Of course I asked him if they worked. He said they did when he put them away.

2005年12月27日 · I own AR-2's, AR-3's, AR-3a's, and AR-4x's. I love all of them. The AR-3 is one of the finest bookshelf loudspeaker systems ever made. AR invented both the acoustic suspension woofer and the dome midrange and tweeter. Enjoy your speakers, they are really wonderful! Try to get the speakers up off the floor if you can.

2003年12月19日 · I've owned a few pairs of the Large Advents as did many of my friends back in their day. Some of my friends owned AR's and one still does, which model I am not sure, they needed the surrounds to be replaced like Advents seem to. But... I recently purchashed some Dynaco A-25's, for a second system and will never look for Advents after hearing these.

2004年8月12日 · The problems disappeared. I have been using my AR-2's with a 125 watt per channel Adcom, for a few years now, and that setup sounds great. Power is the key to these speakers. While the AR-2 is a bit more efficient than the AR-3, it still needs a fair amount of power. AR said at least 15 watts for the AR-2, however, I would recommend at least 25 ...

2006年7月13日 · The AR-5 versions are 8 ohm drivers. Make sure that if you ever have to replace drivers in any AR speaker, that you get the correct one. The AR-2 and AR-5 series are 8 ohm, and the AR-3 series is 4 ohm. The mids and tweets in the AR-2, 3 and 5 series all look identical, but they are not interchangable.

2004年3月9日 · The tweeters in those AR's (AR3a's and AR5's) burnt out very easily. The AR LST was designed to overcome that problem. Modern tweeters have fero cooling on the very thin windings to keep the conductors from burning out. Make sure the AR's you have tried have functioning tweeters. Richard.
