Feb 14, 2023 · It's important not to connect or disconnect two AES50 devices while they are both powered up. It is not a hot-swap interface (though it was probably intended to be). I haven't heard specifics about taking out both ports at once or only one, but the only cure is a new motherboard. Chances are only one device was damaged, pray it was the S16.

Apr 26, 2021 · The minimum specification for the AES50 cables used to connect stageboxes and consoles is shielded Cat5e. Higher specification cables (e.g. Cat6a, Cat7, Cat8) can also be used provided that they are terminated correctly.

Jul 31, 2019 · You can use regular Cat5e for AES50 with an X32 platform and it'll work just fine... right up until it doesn't. Use STP Cat5 with ethercon ends. I doubt the AES50 ports were bad to begin with, to be honest.

Feb 27, 2025 · While conducting firmware upgrades to the X32, my AES50 port B stopped working. While simulating a FOH (M32) and MON (X32) setup with two S16 stage boxes, the port suddenly quit working. The setup was as follows: S16's connected to the MON (X32) console via AES50 port B on console to Port A on S16.
