Apr 6, 2021 · I think the hype of ACSS died down because people are using more odd size barrels outside the 14.5-20” range that the ACSS reticles are calibrated for. Using it for non-standard barrel lengths / bullet weights removes its advantage over a conventional grid reticle because you’d have to start memorizing holdovers, etc.

Mar 15, 2018 · The ACSS reticle in the TA44 is trying to combine a circle dot reticle with a chevron reticle... In an attempt to be more useful than a simple circle dot reticle would be. A chevron is an attempt to give you a red dot like aiming point up close, but a somewhat fine aiming point for extended ranges.

The only difference between this and a TA31 straight from Trijicon is the extra pamphlet that explains the subtensions and ranging features of the ACSS reticle. It's just a better ACOG. Buy with confidence.

Jan 28, 2023 · I use the Gen1 Cyclops 1x prism, and I like the original ACSS reticle. Horseshoe on target for close/fast shots, chevron for precision shots. Yes, the chevron is small, but I don't find that a hindrance when taking my time for a precision shot (YMMV). I might break down someday and try the Gen2 Cyclops, but for now I have no real reason to switch.

Aug 14, 2019 · Love the TA44. Love the ACSS reticle. Together not so much. Like the BDC and range finding features but the reticle is way too small for any practical accurate zeroing use or quick target engagement. A LED version might add a lot of usefulness to this. I may or may not get rid of mine if a useful offer comes along.

Jul 25, 2017 · The chevron inside of the horseshoe in the ACSS reticle is nice, although I haven't had any issues with indexing a pinpoint target at the 12 o'clock where I zeroed. Is that reticle only offered in the TA-31? My next ACOG will be a TA33.
