To be a certified event, teams and participants must register for the event with the AAU, have AAU Memberships and meet NCAA requirements for certified events. These requirements must be completed by all teams attending any of the events listed below.

Since 2010, the AAU has partnered with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to provide FREE Coaches' Education for all AAU non-athletes (coaches, team administrators). Three (3) courses are offered to AAU non-athletes FREE of using their Double-Goal Coach® online courses.

All Coaches at AAU licensed Events must be certified by completing the 2024-2025 online certification course and it must be completed in time for a tournament director to be able to confirm your annual certification.

• Create a team ROSTER to opt-in to certified events as a coach. • Apply for certification of an event or league as an operator. The Adult User (coach/operator) account has been created.

The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic games. After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level.

Coaches' Education & Certification: Part of the process to become an AAU Coach is to pass an online exam . To help you prepare for the exam, we have set up knowledge review sections . Scores needed for Coaches: Administrative Coach: 75.0% to 84.9% Technical Coach: 85% or better (must also have a Dan rank)
