2009年1月2日 · Some companies offer special slip yokes for 700R4's that are longer than the standard 27 spline yokes used on powerglides and TH350 transmissions. Some well noted companies claim you can just use the standard TH 350/powerglide yoke while others insist that you need the special longer length 700R4 model.

2015年9月24日 · Took it out and I'm putting a 700r4 in it. They had set the motor back about 1/2-3/4" with the T56 setup. I have put a TCI front flip on it now. The driveshaft right now has about 13/16" of the yoke inside the tail shaft. I've got another yoke I can put on that's about 3/8-1/2" long which would put it roughly 1 1/4" inside the tail shaft.

2008年4月30日 · Thanks guys! That is why I was asking for a drawing.....I thought that maybe the slip yoke ran inside some kind of bearing or bushing. Wow, I was thinking my trans builder sold my some junk for a minute there! There is a 700R4 install thread that here on the site that has a video of a loose output shaft.

2015年2月24日 · The tail shaft is supported in the rear by the yoke which rides inside a bushing. If the yoke is too short it is not adequately supported. After having a new bushing installed in the trans, I had the new U joints installed and purchased from the same shop a new yoke. Its overall length was about 2 or 3 inches longer than the PG yoke.

2011年12月22日 · A stock 27 spline 700R4 blew up just on the power of the 4.3L-V6. A stock 30 spline "MD8" or "K" case 700R4 will handle 375 maybe 400 horse. I have seen a couple behind 450-460 horse cars but I wouldn't recommend it without at least some minor upgrades.

2009年12月28日 · The 700R4 has a 3.06:1 first gear which is a vast improvement over the 1.76:1 first gear in the powerglide. Even the TH350 trans has a 2.52:1 first gear and second gear is 1.52:1, almost similar to the first gear in your current powerglide tranny.
