2018年11月8日 · The Vortec 5.7 was available as either new or reman. But the up side is I think the only part GM reuses is the block and it is thoroughly cleaned and machined. Since they no longer seem to offer 4.3's new, I guess it's one of the better remans. But I guess that depends on how good the quality control is in their Mexico engine plant.

2010年1月23日 · Use a 1986 (or crate engine) front cover, an 87-93 oil pan, and the stock 82-85 water pump. This is great because it allows you to use the better sealing oil pan, yet still allows standard rotation water pump for the V-belts. Note: the part number for the “crate” 3.4 engine is different than the 1986 cover, but it IS the same exact part.

The dealership said was normal for a 4.3L V6 after 30K to 50K miles. Instead of replacing the lousy factory umbrella seals, I pulled the motor and had it bored and completely rebuilt.
