I bought the complete kit for $100 from the dealer but I cannot find any 3M 847 adhesive. The closest thing I could find was Permatex weatherstrip adhesive. Which is waterproof, fuel proof and resistant to solvents.

Permatex ultra black, OMC adhesive M, Permatex #2, Permatex #3 and #4, 3M 1300- these are all good alternatives for adhesive 847. Adhesive 847 has a good number of alternatives, you just have to find the one that suits you.

About to do a reseal job on the LU of my '66 20 hp, but I was wondering if there were some cheaper/more readily available alternatives to 3M 847. I've read posts here in the forums that say Permatex #2 has served people well and I've also heard that Permatex 1000 will work.

Replacing water pump and calls for adhesive 847. Is there an alternative at Home Depot or Lowes? Thanks
