I did the smart thing—I thought—and accepted the use of a KTM 390 Adventure for the three-day festival of dirt and altitude.

2021年12月1日 · KTM has announced new versions of its 1290 Super Adventure R and 1290 Super Adventure S for 2022. This isn’t just a Bold New Graphics update (although the bikes do get that, along with new bodywork!)—KTM has revised the engine, the chassis and the electronics for the incoming models, which should arrive at dealerships soon.

KTM’s smallest travel bike (really, it’s a travel bike—see here) is updated for 2022. The changes are minor, but they should improve the motorcycle for real-world use. Revised traction control. The biggest change is an updated two-mode traction control system.

This appears to be the premiere model here, with 21-18 spoked wheelset, a relatively high 885 mm saddle (34.8 inches), a TFT dash, cornering-sensitive ABS and traction control and 230 mm of suspension travel (9 inches) fore and aft, from fully-adjustable fork and shock.

2022年2月7日 · As many know the service reset procedure on the pre 2022 models was to toggle display to settings menu then simultaneously depress the top and bottom switches on the four-way switch. But with the new configuration of the switch, that is no longer possible.

2021年12月17日 · The KTM has nice air filter access and a lot more aftermarket support. The aftermarket is a funny argument though, its not like you can't get anything you need for the Yamaha, you just don't have 37 different companies selling you the exact same anodized bits. If you can tag a dirtbike where you live, I always suggest going with the race models.
