I have a 2005 Acura MDX and the HFL stopped working a few days ago. Took it to the dealership and was told that it would need to be replaced at a cost of $975 plus labour. After reading this thread I figured I could buy the part from oemacuraparts.com (HANDS FREE TELEPHONE UNIT *NH528L* (MOON LAKE GRAY) - 2005 ACURA MDX (39770-S3V-A61ZA).

The new 2005 Toyota Avalon has just entered the automotive fray and while it is a commodious and somewhat stately highway cruiser, it has a decidedly sporting side with a truly great 280 HP motor with 260 ft-lb. of torque which provide superb acceleration figures, not unlike those of the 2005 Acura TL.

Last fall we drove straight from Pittsburgh to Annapolis with friends (about 300 miles). We were in our 2005 Acura MDX with our two kids. The other couple was in a 2005 Honda Pilot, with no kids. Our MDX was carrying at least 100 lbs more in people and luggage. We got 24.0 mpg, they got 22.5 mpg (the EPA highway rating is 23 and 22 respectively).

I purchased a 2005 Acura TL, White Diamond in October 2005. I saw one in the bright sunshine at Crown Acura in Clearwater, FL. I test drove a silver one. 2 days later I decided to purchase. I drove it home and pulled into my garage. I got out to admire my new car and I was shocked. It was awful. My beautiful new white car has yellow bumpers!

TL'04 auto 24/25 mpg with speed avg 31mph for the last 6k miles. (70 miles daily) City driving about 50% @25-40mph speed limit Highway 55-65 mph speed limit. Mostly using 93 octane gas but lately I use 50% regular and 50% premium.

My 2005 Acura TL would not start this morning. I replaced the battery in July. When trying to start the car, I had lights but the battery would not turn over the motor. After jumping the battery, the car started. Reading all of these blogs I suspect an HFL issue. My HFL stopped working in April and I did not think about having it fixed.

2011年4月1日 · Hello, I just came back from the Thomas Acura Dealer because my Hands Free Bluetooth is stuck in "booting" and they quoted me 699.99 for unit. This did not include installation. I have a 2006 Acura TL. 4.5 years and it failed. They told me it is a common problem and have these Bluetooth Control Units in stock.

I purchased a used 2005 Acura TL with NAV recently. I have version 3.30g orange dvd. Does anyone know if this is the correct version for the 2005? When receiving directions, the voice is muted. Also the little clock on the dash doesn't match up with the Navigation time. I recall reading in the manual that the dashboard clock syncs to the NAV ...

Acura's "slushbox" automatics are clearly the weakest link in otherwise decent cars. Our 2005 MDX supposedly has a redesigned transmssion, but as it approaches the end of its warranty period, I am weighing the cost of an extended warranty with just trading it in. If the MDX came with a 6-speed manual, my wife would have me trade tomorrow.

I agree, the price difference between the two cars is too much for the RL to compete against the great looking, great value TL. Each to his/her own. I love my RL and wouldn't trade it for a TL for anything. A good friend has the TL and wouldn't trade it for my RL straight across. The TL is a great value, but the RL is an absolute dream to drive.
