After an almost perfect season in '86 the Hurricanes came into the '87 season with the fire in their eyes again. This time the 'Canes would be lead by quarterback Steve Walsh. Michael Irvin, Brian Blades, Danny Stubbs, George Mira Jr, and Bennie Blades all returned to the Orange Bowl to help guide Miami to another perfect season.

The Miami Hurricanes were 11-0 in 1987. They emerged victorious over the Oklahoma Sooners, 20 to 14, in the Orange Bowl, and won their second National Championship.
