By the early twentieth century the district’s wine making, natural beauty and magnificent beaches enticed holiday makers from Adelaide. Coastal townships of Port Noarlunga, Moana, Port Willunga, Sellicks Beach and Aldinga became popular tourist towns with tourism becoming a seasonal support for these communities.

Under the auspices of the Willunga Business & Tourism Association and funded by the City of Onkaparinga, a group of residents has produced a ‘Welcome to Willunga’ kit to help newcomers to integrate quickly and happily.

July sees the fun of the fair with the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival. For the whole family it offers show rides, camel and pony rides, animal nursery, market stalls, live local music, Saturday night fireworks and Sunday street parade.

With local wineries offering their unique blends, plus our very own craft breweries offering tastings and music, you couldn’t ask for more. Add a stunning variety of food choices starting with local cafes, wood fired pizza, and local produce on offer at our Saturday Willunga farmers market, there is something for everyone.

This year Willunga will host Tour Down Under Stage 6 on Sunday 26th January 2020. This race will finish at the top of Old Willunga Hill with the riders passing through Willunga’s High Street five times, plus five times along Main Road and three times along the Aldinga Road.

The Willunga Quarry Market offers a leisurely, stress free shopping and social experience. Visitors can purchase a variety of fresh and homemade produce, plants, seedlings, hand crafted jewellery, clothing, soaps, collectables and gifts.
