Chin-Yin Chiu High School Economic and Financial Modeling Gold Award is named in the memory of Chin-Yin Chiu, a famous scholar and educator in China and the beloved father of Shing-Tung Yau. Yeuk-Lam Leung High School Mathematics Silver Award is named in the memory of Yeuk-Lam Leung Chiu, the beloved mother of Shing-Tung Yau.

The Award is based at the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center (YMSC) of Tsinghua University and has been running successfully for over ten years. It initially started with Mathematics, then expanded to include Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Economic and Financial Modeling.

S.T. Yau High School Science Award (Asia) Eligibility. YHSA(Asia) strives to provide a fair and encouraging environment for all participants. There is no restriction on nationality and ethnicity for participation. However, participants must be currently enrolled secondary school students in Hong Kong or the Asian region outside Mainland China*.
