2023年2月28日 · Like others I have struggled with Eustachian tube dysfunction , hyperacusis, tinnitus and some hearing loss. It is a difficult balancing act to use hearing aids to help with hearing loss and tinnitus, BUT not make the hyperacusis too much worse. It is frankly impossible. I would travel for treatment but because of my ailments, I cannot fly.

2023年4月10日 · @rinagelman49, as I think you already know hyperacusis is a commonly reported by people who have had stapedotomy but that it usually resolves in one month after surgery. 2022年9月4日 · It’s just that as a result of out hyperacusis the noise APPEARS to be a lot louder than in fact it is to a normal ear. This begs the question of are we safe in terms of avoiding further damage with the louder sounding noise, or because of the noise level that we hear being louder to only our ears, are we therefore safe from further damage.

2023年1月27日 · Hi all. I’m about to take my first flight since my acoustic trauma 8 months ago that left me with some hearing loss complicated by hyperacusis. You were all very helpful in my first few weeks with the disorder. With time, it has gotten somewhat better. Some noises that had been painful are now tolerable, although the kitchen is still a minefield.

2019年3月10日 · Hyperacusis is a rare hearing disorder. Normal sounds are amplified to the point of becoming painful. Have been to 2 ENTs, had a brain MRI, had 5 audiology tests, took prednisone meds, and tried a hearing aid. Nothing helped. Was told to learn to live with it. Does anyone have a helpful suggestion?

2022年6月19日 · They provided me with regulation ear muffs but shortly after I stopped the MRI. It was too loud. I won’t take a chance with anything that could even remotely affect my hearing. Apparently you can reduce hyperacusis by conditioning your ear by beginning slowly to increase your sound tolerance by listening to slightly louder sounds.slowly.

2023年2月26日 · I got hyperacusis as a complication of my stapedectomy. I know that many people are getting it after this surgery, but it may get better or disappear at all after a couple of weeks, or continue for a much longer time,before your brain adjust to the new reality of hearing. My is still here,with a smallest improvement, after 4 1/2 months.

2019年3月10日 · I have hyperacusis and tinnitus in both ears and it is constant never stops. Have had it since about 1988 I believe, have been to different ent’s and had ear surgery to help relieve the tinnitus but made it worst. I have tried multiple things to no avail. Would sure like to find a treatment that works but so far no.

2024年1月2日 · My symptoms are still ear pressure with muffled hearing, dizziness, tinnitus, hyperacusis and blurry vision. I also have swollen nasal passages and extreme constipation. The perception issues are the hardest for me. I try to rest, walk a little, eat as well as I can. I’m having vitamin infusions, and I take some supplements.?? It’s a mystery.
