2016年3月2日 · I used Sunny D's idea, my crampons are Grivel crampomatic, changing bales to newmatic - one side of bale in crampon, girth hitch with sling on other side of bale, crampon on side on floor on leather gloves to protect carpet etc, holding down crampon with feet, pulling on sling, other side of bale pops in hole on crampon worked pretty easily!

I can tell from about 200 yards away if anyone (with very rare exceptions like Raph and a few others) is wearing monos or dual frontpoints. The mono-wanna-be-master’s feet will be blowing a lot more.

Kind of over regulation snowshoe bindings... They freeze up, compress your boots etc. Toying with the idea of cutting up some old crampons to make some bindings that lock onto a full shank mountaineering boot. Does anyone have any junk / old automatic crampons that they would sell for cheap or donate to the cause? Dave
