2023年9月2日 · Run the lubricated brass thru the .338-06 F/L die with no decap pin & expander& set the die so there is a .005 gap between top of shell holder & bottom of die - use a feeler gauge. This will increase cartridge length at datum point in shoulder enabling a slight crush fit.

2020年3月25日 · I think the 338-06 is a grate cartridge and I would probably do one if I didn't have the 338 Win. Mag. Quality Cartridge also makes brass for the 338-06. But as you say you don't have the money this year so the 30-06 will get the job done with the right bullet, so if you get to go, go and have fun. You can still build a 338-06 later on.

2005年12月8日 · I use rcbs FL 338-06 sizer die for WW 30-06 brass after firing the RCBS 338-06 neck die is all i use from then on. Then your brass is talored to your chamber. My favorite load is IMR 4320 @ 53.0 with fed 210 match primers in WW cases, with 200 gr Nosler E Tip or Accubond at COAL 3.340" After the frist FL resizing i trim my cases to 2.450".

2019年2月14日 · Both out of 24" barrels. 338-06 is factory Weatherby UL and 338-06AI is custom Oregunsmithing built off a pre-64 70 action. Either way OP decides to go would be a good option in my book. I have a plethora of R-P 338-06 virgin brass if it's needed. Sizing up 30-06 brass is super easy also.

1) find 338-06 A Square cases, load to standard 338-06 A Square load and shoot it. The case should have a slight interference where the neck/shoulder junction is. No need to jam the bullet if this is the case. 2) Forming from another cartridge (say 30-06) you can neck up to 35 caliber, then run it through the 338AI die to get a false shoulder.
