Tenjin is located in the Central Ward of Fukuoka City. It's known as the fashion capital of Kyushu and often named a gourmet or retail city. I found it to be more for shopping and experiencing a Japanese city rather than for sightseeing, but still worth the time of any tourist.

Similar to the Nakasu area, yatai stalls, a symbol of Fukuoka, can be found throughout Tenjin, and are an integral part of the city's nightlife. In addition to yatai, the southern part of Tenjin is home to Yakuin and Watanabe-dori, where restaurants constantly pop up.
