2022年2月15日 · Tanjiro gets burned out fighting Rui and doesn't even make the cut. Giyu rescues him. Tanjiro fights Enmu and wins, but gets burned out. Rengoku rescues him, but at what cost. Tanjiro gets burned out fighting Gyutaro, but does enough of a last ditch effort to allow Tengen to jump in. Kamaboko squad themselves also continue. Everyone lives.

With this arc, it's very refreshing to see Tanjiro and the other Hashira he's worked with just talking and interacting without any big bad demon. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm happy that Inosuke and Zenitsu are not present in this arc. They were fun at first, but their personalities very much feel like one trick ponies.

But in both cases it would be Tanjiro's demise as Kokushibu would just slice him in half with ease tho in the case of fighting,.Tanjiro would try to put up a fight and based on how far along the story that would happen, Kokushibu might offer Tanjiro to become a demon.

I mean seriously, I get Giyuu is stoic hand serious, and Tanjiro understand the importance of them going on no matter what happened, but they just kinda widen their eyes and that’s it, for Giyuu at least (I can’t remember if Tanjiro has a little flashback panel or not). this death would have hit both of them super hard but we don’t really get to see that

So, character design tells a story. And what this one tells me is that Tanjiro is cold. KNY owns a good chunk of his popularity to Tanjiro's kindness. A lot of the story relies on it too. So, while I can't tell what the story would have been like, I'm fairly certain it would be nowhere as good and popular as it is now.
