We're on a family trip in Orange Beach and I'd love to bring the crew to Pensacola, and the museum is the primary motivation. The website makes it sound like we can't visit. I found an article saying this was because of a terrorist attack in 2019.

2024年6月29日 · The naval aviation museum is on the west side/back gate of NAS Pensacola. It is pretty far from where the beach air show will be out on Pensacola Beach. There may be a little more traffic in Pensacola in general but overall shouldn’t be a problem. The crowds and horrific traffic will be at Pensacola beach.

2019年6月7日 · Definitely go to this museum if you get a chance. My granddad was an A&P mechanic in the Navy and served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He later lived in Pensacola after leaving the Navy. Whenever we'd visit when I was a kid, would take me to the museum.

If you’re still in the area, make the drive to Pensacola and go the the Naval Air Museum. Only about 1.5hr away. It’s easily one of the top 5 in the US, but still doesn’t beat out the Udvar-Hazy/Smithsonian or the USAF Museum.
