2017年12月7日 · After 20 years of slow, careful excavation, the world's most complete skeleton of an ancient human ancestor has just been unveiled. It belongs to the genus Australopithecus, and it's 3.67 million years old.

While the Qafzeh 9 and 10 skeletons are not the oldest human (Homo sapiens) remains ever discovered, they are near complete skeletons, making them the oldest human skeletons in the world. The skeletons were discovered in 1969 in Qafzeh Cave in Israel and date back to around 100,000 years ago.

AL 288-1, commonly known as Lucy or Dinkʼinesh (Amharic: ድንቅ ነሽ, lit. 'you are marvellous'), is a collection of several hundred pieces of fossilized bone comprising 40 percent of the skeleton of a female of the hominin species Australopithecus afarensis.

After six years of research, scientists released a report in 2003 saying that Herto Man skulls were the oldest-known human remains yet found. The skull is estimated to be about 160,000 years old and confirmed the old theory that modern humans evolved in Africa.
