2016年4月16日 · The Nitron finish on my Sigs is still in excellent condition. My 1994 P229 probably has the best condition of all, except for the 1 month old M11-A1. Even my 2006 & 2007 LEO P226 trade-ins are still completely intact. I don't see any wear on any of the finish, but there are a couple of 1mm X 1mm "chips" in the Nitron near sharp edges.

2018年2月11日 · KenBry. I have a blast cabinet, etc. and have done stainless, Nitron treated SIG, and other slides. I used a very fine glass bead media,i.e., Brownells 270+ glass beads. The black finish is easily removed and the result is a very fine surface finish that could then be brushed or polished if a higher luster is desired.

2021年10月5日 · If you’re gonna put it in a leather holster leave it alone, it looks fine. I like the Nitron finish on my Sigs, LOVE the blue on my old Colt GCNM and the duty finish on the DW Guardian. Colt used to do a satin nickel finish that was nice and high polished nickel that screamed Hollywood Cowboy that I thought was horrendous.

2015年4月7日 · Yes, the cavitation bubbles will preferentially form on surfaces like Nitron. Look under a high enough power microscope and the surface is a bunch of peaks. The bubbles will form on them just like bubbles form on the tiny bits of dirt (or salt dropped) in a beer glass.

2024年3月27日 · So the Nitron only adds protection for the most extreme conditions. You can see the natural stainless finish showing through along the edges and elsewhere. So even if SIG had applied Nitron treatment to the stainless steel slide (which is black) it was sanded off in many areas to give it the "distressed" look.

2023年10月6日 · Too many variables to say for certain, if your friend is buying new pistols, he can use the SKUs and visit Sigs Website. similar to what Just Plain Cliff has copied and pasted, but his Nitron is a California model so may not be representative. Basically The Elite should have a SRT, but possibly not a Legion Trigger, depending on it's vintage.
