Mongul (/ ˈ m ɒ ŋ ɡ əl /) is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Writer Len Wein and artist Jim Starlin created the first version of the character, who debuted in DC Comics Presents #27 (November 1980). [ 1 ]

Mongul is an alien world-conqueror and the leader of Warworld. His brutal and merciless nature make him an enemy to Superman and a threat to the larger universe. His specialty is using the Black Mercy plants to incapacitate his opponents.

Mongul was born as the descendant of a long line of planetary rulers. Since a young age, he strongly believed that the strong had natural subjection of the weak, and thus wasn't willing to share anything with anyone, not even his own kin.

The cruel conqueror Mongul once roamed the cosmos aboard Warworld, a planet-sized engine of destruction. Invading countless worlds, Mongul enslaved entire populations.

2021年12月15日 · Mongul's first appearance after the Crisis came in Adventures of Superman #454, which was a story many DC fans considered one of the greatest storylines in DC history. As the tyrannical ruler of Warworld, Mongul hosts gladiator tournaments between several powerful beings in the universe.

Mongul I, also known as Mongul the Elder, is one of the main antagonists of the DC Universe, appearing as a major antagonist in the Superman franchise and the Green Lantern franchise and media and one of the main antagonists of the Justice League franchises and media.

Mongul took a massive spaceship to Earth, arriving over Coast City and unleashing 77,000 carnage globes which detonated simultaneously, obliterating the entire city and all who lived there. The ship then launched a collection of "seeds" which worked quickly worked together to build Engine City for his new master. [ 5 ]

Honestly, Mongul isn’t too different from tons of one-off alien conqueror characters, except for the fact that his first appearances are by Jim Starlin, of Infinity Gauntlet fame.

Mongul is a wretched, sadistic, and sociopathic warlord who satisfies his desires by mentally torturing others into his submission and enables gladiatorial games where fighters kill each other because he likes to get a kick out of it. And like any antagonistic extraterrestrial would do, he's also plotted invasions on Earth.

Mongul is an alien warlord who repeatedly came into conflict with Superman in his attempts to conquer the universe. He is powerful, ruthless, and very intelligent, preferring to plan things ahead of time whenever possible.
