Gator Guard — experiences? - Advice - Paddling.com
2018年6月19日 · Ok, follow up. I talked with a few sources, including Gator Guard and Austin Kayak: The patch / keel guard will stick to all plastics except polypropelene. It will bond with polyethylene. The bond will hold permanently. The product will get chewed up hitting rocks and will wear away if you drag it over concrete (duh).

Flex Seal Tape and yaks. Any thoughts? - Paddling.com
2019年2月21日 · Many decades ago we gouged the bow keel of an ancient canoe badly on a rock in the middle of a 4 day paddle camping trip. It was an old wooden canoe that had been fiberglassed over where the canvas had once been. A big enough chunk was knocked out that we had to either stop and patch or dedicate one paddler to constantly bailing.
Impact of keel protection on speed - Advice - Paddling.com
-- Last Updated: Apr-20-15 8:28 AM EST -- I'm thinking of using Gorilla tape to put a 10" strip of bicycle inner tuber on the rear keel. Purpose is to protect the keel while loading the kayak from the rear, since it must rest on the pavement. I now use a carpet but I think a keel protector would be easier and more effective. Keel Strip - Advice - Paddling.com
2009年10月1日 · Kevlar makes a terrible keel strip. It fuzzes rather than wearing smooth. If you need a keel strip, glass is much better. Probably your kayak will not be pure Kevlar.
