This was the 1st time I noted that the JAK2 mutation can develop into multiple diseases that are ALL classified as blood cancers.

2024年10月25日 · I was diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera about three years ago. It was explained to me that it was caused by a JAK 2 mutation. Early treatment was phlebotomy and now just meds. The JAK 2 mutation causes an over production of blood cells and those extra blood cells put a strain on the spleen. Mine is enlarged also.

2020年11月25日 · The doctor is seeing me every 6 months, Platelets are increasing and I was told I was born with the JAK 2 Mutation apparently never surfaced ever until recently. I was a regular blood donor, and years ago I was needing iron and saw this same type of physician.

2018年3月29日 · My daughter ( age 39) was diagnosed with ET a few months ago- not JAK2 but CALR. She started Hydrea 1 pill - platelets went from 1.5 million to 900,000 added another 1/2 pill every other day - platelets down 800,000. Due to the long term use of Hydrea she changed to interferon. After 3 weeks on interferon her platelets are back to 1.2 million.
