Nah, base EGOs can still corrode. It is just that they will corrode as if you reached -45 sanity. I think this is one of the least known facts in the game since base EGOs always show a 0% chance to corrode and 9/10 times a base EGO won't clash win a clash if you are at low sanity, so you will never really use it anyways.
